IT Sligo senior gaelic footballers bowed out of the Sigerson Cup on Wednesday night after losing to IT Carlow in their round 2 game on a final scoreline of 2-10 to 0-6.
Carlow, who lost narrowly to Letterkenny IT in the opening round last week, were the deserved winners on the night.
Sligo trailed at the interval by 1-7 to 0-4 and were unable to make inroads on the Carlow lead in the second-half.
The result ends a disappointing Sigerson campaign for IT Sligo in 2022.
They struggled in both matches having lost to UL the previous week by 20 points.
Elsewhere, Curry's Red Óg Murphy converted a last-minute penalty for DCU in Belfast to give them a dramatic 1-14 to 1-13 victory over St Mary's - and a place in the Sigerson quarter-finals.
