IT Sligo suffer semi-final heartbreak

IT Sligo Men's soccer 'A' team suffered last minute heartbreak in the semi-final of this year's CFAI Perpetual Cup following a a 3-2 defeat to Dublin Technological University on Tuesday afternoon.

Quarter-final hat-trick hero James McGrath put Colm Jinks' charges ahead with a well taken finish in the third minute.

It was the wake-up call the away side needed as they scored two quickfire goals to give themselves the lead, a lead which they held at half-time.

Carndonagh native and Finn Harps' Nathan Logue equalised for the Sligo students as both sides searched for that elusive winner that would ensure a place in next week's final.

Unfortunately from an IT Sligo point of view, it was the visitors who found that winning goal in the last minute of the game to send them into next week's final of the CFAI Perpetual Cup.
