Scottish Premier League side St Johnstone have announced that John Mahon is to leave the club by mutual consent.
The Collooney native joined St Johnstone from Sligo Rovers in January of 2022 - after a couple of distinguished seasons at the heart of the Rovers defence, which earned him both Young Player and Senior Player of the Season accolades at the Showgrounds in different seasons.
While in Scotland, Mahon featured in the St Johnstone first team matchday squad on several occasions but his game time was limited.
He was a star performer in their concluding match of last season – the crucial second leg of the Premiership play-off against Inverness Caley Thistle.
However, Mahon's last competitive appearance was in the SPFL Trust Cup defeat to East Fife back in August.
