Sligo Rovers 18-year-old striker Johnny Kenny has signed a new three-year contract with the club.
Rovers confirmed the news on Wednesday afternoon - which is sure to delight club supporters everywhere.
The Riverstown teenager has been one of Rovers most exciting performers during the 2021 season.
In an impressive debut season as a professional, he has scored nine goals in 21 league starts for his hometown club to date.
He also netted one goal in the Europa Conference League.
His progress this season had reportedly attracted interest from Celtic and other clubs.
But the decision to continue his development at the Showgrounds until the end of the 2024 season will be seen as a major boost amongst the Rovers faithful.
Here's a reminder of his goal against Drogheda United last Friday night:
Johnny Kenny has surely secured the three points for @sligorovers!
It wasn't the prettiest of goals, but after a scramble in the box, Kenny expertly steered the ball into the corner. Big goal!@sligorovers 2-0 @DroghedaUnited
