The first meeting of clubs for the new 2018/2019 season was held on Thursday night 26th July at the Sligo Southern Hotel. A full house insured a most rewarding meeting that included all the details of the coming season from Referees, to facilities, League format, Insurance, Public Liability’s, First Aid kits, Players Registration, GDPR, Club membership, entrants to Connacht and FAI competitions and many other topics of interest.
From last season only one club did not return that was Ballygawley Celtic while Cartron United and new club JNDO Academy teams will play at Mac Sharry Park.
The amateur game is a family friendly sport and disciplinary will be strictly enforced to insure it remains that way with Respect for all of paramount importance. Players previous disciplinary records will be used in determining any future actions should they arise but under no circumstances will any form of unsporting behavior be accepted.
The leagues will kick of on the weekend of the 1st & 2nd of September with 11am KO all games will be scheduled for Sunday morning but games can and will be played where both clubs agree on Friday and Saturday evenings. However, where possible no games will be played that clash with our Senior Clubs fixtures.
The first game prior to the start of the season will feature MCR FC v Carbury FC Super & Premier League Champions Kick Off 7.45pm at the Showgrounds Sligo On Friday the 24th August for the Cleary Landscapes & Pitch Maintenance Cup.
