Keelan Kilrehill sets new 10k personal best in Spain

Dromore West's Keelan Kilrehill improved his own personal best for the men's 10k at the Valencia 10k in Spain on Sunday.

Kilrehill, the 2024 Irish senior men's cross country champion and running in his Moy Valley AC singlet in, clocked 48 mins 51 seconds to finish 73rd overall in the prestigious Valencia 10k.

The Valencia event is generally regarded as the World's fastest 10k - an attracts a high-quality field each year, as runners look to improve their PB at the start of the season.

Fellow Irish athlete Efrem Gidey was 20th - and his time of 27.44 broke John Treacy's long-standing Irish record for the distance by two seconds.
