Lauren Cadden set to run in Euro relay final

Sligo Athletic Club's Lauren Cadden is set to run in Sunday evening's final of the women's 4 x 400 metres final at the European Indoor Athletics Championships in the Netherlands.

The women's 4x400 relay is the last final of the championships - and Cadden is set to be part of the quartet alongside Finn Valley AC's Arlene Crossan, Rachel McCann, and Cliodhna Manning.

The team will compete in Sunday's final without the injured Sharlene Mawdsley and Phil Healy, who's understood to have pulled out of Sunday's final.

The women's 4x400 relay squad won silver at the 2024 European outdoor championships - but in absence of a number of their first-choice sprinters, Ireland will be seen as outsiders for a medal in the six-team final, which is scheduled to begin at 5:50pm Irish time.
