Leitrim goalkeeper Nevin O’Donnell has joined the Cavan senior football panel as Breffni manager Raymond Galligan prepares for his second season in charge.
O’Donnell, from Blacklion, County Cavan, opted to represent Leitrim back in 2016 after a spell in London, originally as a forward.
He was previously a member of Cavan’s four-in-a-row Ulster underr-21 winning side back in 2014, again as a forward - but didn't quite manage to break into the senior team in subsequent seasons.
Cavan manager Galligan was also an outfield player, who converted to a the goalkeeper role with Cavan during his playing days.
O'Donnell was part of the Fenagh/St Caillin's management team this year, along with Emlyn Mulligan, following a change of management by the south Leitrim club mid-season.
The duo guided Fenagh to a county semi-final, which they lost narrowly to eventual winners Mohill.
Cavan will be operating in Division 2 of the National Football League in the New Year - and this could see O'Donnell come up against his former Leitrim boss Andy Moran, who's now part of new Monaghan manager Gabriel Bannigan's backroom team.
