Leitrim hurlers Croke Park joy

Leitrim hurlers are Lory Meagher Cup champions for 2019 after a dramatic 2-23 to 2-22 victory against Lancashire after extra time in the sunshine of Croke Park on Saturday.

Leitrim lost the same final to Warrickshire two years ago, and it looked like they might fall short again here when the Exiles led 1-19 to 1-16 deep into stoppage-time, but a stunning James Glancy goal brought Leitrim fresh hope and they took the initiative in extra-time to seal a famous win.
