Leitrim hurlers make winning start, Donegal lose narrowly to Meath

Leitrim hurlers made a winning start to their Allianz Hurling League Division 4 campaign on Saturday with a 0-21 to 2-10 win over Lancashire at Abbotsown in Dublin.

The game was Leitrim first under new boss Mike Wall.

In Division 2, Mickey McCann's Donegal were edged out by Meath in Trim on the opening weekend of the hurling league, losing out on a final scoreline of 2-12 to 1-14.

Sligo hurlers begin their Division 3 campaign on Sunday against Wicklow at 1pm.

The game has been moved to ATU Sligo as the original venue - Markievicz Park is unplayable.
