Leitrim outplayed by Antrim in league final

Leitrim women's gaelic footballers of clinching a Division 4 league title, and with it promotion, were dashed on Sunday at Parnell Park in Dublin as an impressive Antrim team ran out deserving 1-19 to 2-6 winners.

Antrim led by 1-8 to 1-4 at half-time after a first-half penalty from Leitrim's Leah Fox flashed wide in the closing moments of the half.

It was during the game's third quarter that Antrim did most of the damage as they established an eight-point lead during this period.

And although Leitrim closed the gap to four points at one stage, Antrim with the impressive Orlaith Prenter contributing 0-8 were able to keep their opponents at arms length.
