Mayo will be Leitrim's opponents in next Wednesday's Connacht under-20 football semi-final following Mayo's 1-6 to 1-4 win over Galway in their preliminary round game at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence.
On a wild night weather-wise, the sides were level at 0-2 each at half-time, before Maurice Sheridan's Mayo made their move in the third quarter, scoring 1-4 without reply.
Galway did rally in the closing stages but Mayo held on to win by two.
They will now face Benny Guckian's Leitrim in the Connacht semi-final next Wednesday evening (April 13th) at 6:30pm.
