Leitrim went to of Division 4 of the Allianz Football League on scoring difference on Sunday following their 2-22 to 0-13 win over Carlow.
Keith Beirne scored 1-11 in another impressive display as Carlow finished the game with 12 players following three second-half dismissals.
Leitrim joined Laois and Sligo on six points but their superior goal difference means they top Division 4 after four matches.
Sunday's game was also a personal milestone for Glencar/Manorhamilton's Paddy Maguire (pictured) who made his 100th senior appearance for the county.
