Leitrim's hopes of reaching the promotion play-offs in Division 4 of the Allianz Football League were ended in Carrick-on-Shannon when they were comprehensively outplayed by Mickey Harte's Louth on a final scoreline of 0-19 to 0-10.
The home side had produced an encouraging second quarter, coming from 0-6 to 0-1 down to lead at the interval by 0-7 to 0-6.
However, their challenge faded in the second-half as Louth ran out comfortable winners.
Ryan O'Rourke was introduced in the closing stages but, by then, the game was already beyond Leitrim.
