Leitrim's Shane Mallon made his senior competitve debut for Connacht in last Friday's United Rugby Championship game against Leinster at the RDS.
The Bornacoola native was named on the wing by head coach in his first URC start for the province - he played 44 minutes before being replaced by Byron Ralston.
Leinster were comprehensive 33-7 winners on the night.
The result ends Connacht's hopes of making the URC's top eight for the end-of-season play-offs.
