Letterkenny IT are through to the semi-finals of the Electric Ireland Sigerson Cup following an impressive 1-14 to 1-8 win away to IT Sligo on Sunday.
The Donegal Institute, managed by county senior captain Michael Murphy, are contesting their first ever Sigerson Cup, having beaten Athlone IT in round 1 last weekend.
Here, they begin impressively, establishing a 1-5 to 0-2 lead with county player Michael Langan scoring the LYIT goal.
But IT Sligo gradually got to grip with proceedings and a goal from corner back Tiernan McSkean (Monaghan) brought them back into the contest.
LYIT finished the half strongly, adding a couple of fine points from play to lead by 1-9 to 1-4.
And they kept their opponents at arms length in the second half hour - with Michael Langan and Eoin McGettigan very influential.
IT Sligo did create a number of goal chances in the second half but they were unable to convert any of them - and their frustration was compounded in the closing moments when Luke Molloy received a red card.

Letterkenny now face IT Carlow in Wednesday night's semi-final (Inniskeen, 7pm) after they beat the holders UCC by 3-9 to 0-14.
