Letterkenny IT's Sigerson Cup adventure for 2022 came to an end on Tuesday evening in Dangan as they lost out to NUI Galway in their quarter-final by 2-8 to 1-8.
A goal from NUIG corner forward Tomo Culhane proved to be the key score, following a brave second-half rally from LYIT.
The Galway side led by 1-5 to 0-4 at the interval but suffered a setback with the loss of Mayo county player Tommy Conroy through injury.
Maxi Curran's side inched their way back into the contest and the sides were level at 1-7 each with five minutes remaining.
However, Culhane's goal and a Matthew Tierney point late on sealed NUI Galway's place in the semi-finals.
