Letterkenny IT (LYIT) senior gaelic footballers claimed a major scalp in the Sigerson Cup on Tuesday night with a 0-7 to 0-6 win over UCD in a third-round match played at the Donegal GAA Centre of Excellence in Convoy.
A low-scoring contest saw Joel Bradley-Walsh supply the match-winning score.
The results sends Letterkenny into the quarter-finals - UCD, who've won the competition 34 times, bow out.
LYIT are making just their second appearance in the premier third level gaelic football competition.
Under Michael Murphy in 2020 (the competition wasn't held last year), they beat IT Sligo en route to reaching the semi-finals, before losing to IT Carlow.
Now, they are just one match away from matching that feat in 2022.
