Donegal's Mark English finished fifth in his men's 800 metres semi-final on Friday morning at the World Athletics Championships in Oregon.
English clocked a time of 1:45.78, just missing out on a place in the final.
The Finn Valley AC clubman had run his second-fastest time of 1:44.76 in Wednesday's heats.
