Mayo dealing with 'Covid issues' ahead of Leitrim semi-final

Mayo dealing with 'Covid issues' ahead of Leitrim semi-final

Mayo could be without a number of players for Sunday’s Connacht SFC semi-final against Leitrim as a result of them being close contacts of a Covid case.

Unlike Sligo, who handed Galway a walkover in last year’s semi-final due to a Covid outbreak, Mayo are not expected to forfeit the game in Castlebar.

However, they may be down some panel members who were deemed close contacts of a confirmed case.

A Mayo GAA statement issued to local media said:
"Mayo GAA are currently working with the HSE on a number of COVID-19 related queries amongst members of the County Senior Football panel.
"Mayo GAA are following HSE guidelines and our Senior team are continuing their preparation for Sunday’s Connacht Chp game v Leitrim".
Sunday's semi-final will be broadcast live on Ocean FM from 2pm in association with McManus Pharmacy, New Line, Manorhamilton.
