McDonnell says Sligo need to step up a level to tackle Galway

Sligo captain Kevin McDonnell says that Sunday's Connacht semi-final against Galway will be a massive step-up for his side.

Galway corner back Eoghan Kerin says they’ll be wary of Sligo in this Sunday's Connacht semi-final at Pearse Stadium.

The Tribesmen followed up on a successful league campaign by beating Mayo in their Connacht quarter-final.

Speaking at the launch of AIB’s extension to their sponsorship of the Football Championship by five years, Kerin said Sligo have a history of upsetting the odds in this fixture.
