The popular Metal Men Swim Series event in Sligo Bay this year has sold out, less than 24 hours after online entries opened for it.
This year's Metal Man takes place on Saturday, June 14th - and the 350 available places for it were snapped up online in a matter of hours.
The swim series is a non-profit event, which caters for swimmers of all abilities - and comprises three different swims along Sligo Bay: 1km, 2km and 3km.
The first Metalman Swim Series race took place in 2009 with just 15 swimmers taking part.
The aim of the founder, Shane O’Doherty, was to promote open water swimming in Sligo and bring together the existing talent and encourage newcomers.
Since then, the event has grown from strength to strength, and is once again at full capacity (350 entries) for the 2025 edition.
