Michael Morgan's growing reputation in athletics continued on Saturday as he won the junior men's 5000 metres title at the Irish Life Health National Senior & U23 Track & Field Championships in Santry.
The Sligo AC athlete won the race in a time of 15:56.22 and finished ahead of North West Kildare's Aaron Smith (15:58.05) and James Hyland from Raheny Shamrock AC (15:59.51).
Other local athletes competing at the championships, which are being spread over two weekends and behind closed doors include:
North Sligo's Christopher O'Donnell who defends his men's 400 metres senior title - and Sligo-based athlete John Travers who is defending his 1500 metres title.
