Mona McSharry first major swimming championships since the 2024 Paris Olympics saw her win two gold medals for the University of Tennessee at the prestigious South Eastern Conference (SEC) Championships in Alabama.
For the fourth year in a row, the Grange woman won the women's 100 breaststroke title, edging out fellow Tennessee swimmer McKenzie Siroky by one hundreth of a second in the final.
The victory means McSharry joins Georgia's Kristy Kowal (1997-2000) as the only swimmers to ever achieve this feat in conference history.
This SECs were McSharry first major championships to compete in since winning Olympic bronze for Ireland in Paris last year.
She did compete in a smaller collegiate event for Tennesse in January - but the SECs were her first high profile meet since Paris.
