Mona McSharry has missed out on a place in the final of the women's 200 metres breaststroke at the Paris Olympics after finishing a tired looking sixth in her semi-final on Wednesday night.
Her time was 2:24:48, slower that her heat time earlier in the day - she was eleventh quickest overall from the two semi-finals.
“Right now, I’m just upset. All I know is the time and it wasn’t fast enough so it’s hard to do more than that right now. Definitely upset,” McSharry said moments after the semi-final.
“I was definitely hoping for another final.”
