New Donegal LGFA trophy in memory of Donna Dunnion

A new trophy, in memory of Four Masters and Donegal LGFA stalwart Donna Dunnion Boyle, is being introduced for this year's women's senior club football championship.

The draws for the Donegal Kernan Group club championships were made on Tuesday night in Letterkenny.

St Naul's will be in Group 1 of the senior championship alongside St Eunnan's, Termon and Moville - while county champions Glenfin will be in a three-team Group 2 with Buncrana and Naomh Conaill.

Tuesday's launch saw confirmation that the county's senior championship silverware is being renamed in memory of Donna Dunnion Boyle, who died earlier this year from cancer.

A native of Barnesmore, before later moving to Ardara, the 41-year-old teacher and mother-of-two was the wife of former Donegal and Ardara footballer Brendan Boyle.

She was a dedicated club and county footballer, winning an All-Ireland intermediate football title with Donegal in 2003.
