Sligo co-driver Niall Burns lies sixth overall after the opening stage of the Qatar International Rally, which began on Thursday evening.
Burns, who's is navigating for 2022 Kuwait International Rally winner Kahlid Al Suwaidi, in a Škoda Fabia (pictured), got a late call-up last week to compete in the international event.
Thursday's opening special stage was based in Qatar's second city of Lusail
The rally continues on Friday and Saturday with 12 stages in the desert.
