Ocean FM Sports Awards 2024 - The winners

Sligo's Olympic bronze medalist Mona McSharry collected three of the main 'gongs' at the Ocean FM Sports Awards for 2024 at the Radisson Hotel in Ballincar on Saturday night.

The Grange woman was named 'Sports Personality of Year', 'Female Sportsperson of the Year' - and her Paris heroics was chosen by listeners to Ocean FM as the Sports Moment of the Year.

McSharry is currently travelling in the United States but she did send a recorded message to the 300+ audience on the night - with the awards collected on her behalf by her parents Viola and Aidan McsSharry, and her swimming coach Grace Meade.

Leitrim LGFA's All-Ireland intermediate succcess this year saw them collect the Team of the Year award - with their mentor Jonny Garrity winning 'Coach of the Year.

Sligo Rowing Club - Ocean FM Club of the Year 2024

Sligo Rowing Club were named 'Club of the Year while Abbey Vocational School, Donegal Town took home the 'School of the Year' accolade.

Anna McDaniel's stellar sporting year across three sports: basketball, gaelic football and soccer, saw her receive the Young Sportsperson of the Year award (The Red Óg Award), which was presented to her by Red Óg Murphy's family, Geraldine, Redmond, Oisín and Daithí on the night.

Special guests on the night were impressionist Conor Moore and Joe Brolly.
