Boyle Celtic’s hopes of reaching this year’s FAI Junior Cup final at the Aviva Stadium were crushed by Kilkenny side Evergreen in front of a huge crowd at the Showgrounds yesterday.
Danny Browne’s first half penalty had the reigning Sligo-Leitrim champions 1-0 up at half-time, but former Shamrock Rovers striker Mikey Drennan equalised for Evergreen, who went on to win 4-2 in a dramatic penalty shootout.
