Roisín Rodgers named Donegal captain

Roisín Rodgers will captain the Donegal senior women's gaelic footballers for the 2025 Lidl National Football League campaign.

Rodgers, who's from the Naomh Muire Íochtar Na Rosann club, will lead the team out in Doonbeg this Sunday afternoon when Donegal take on Clare in the opening Division 2 game.

Rodgers captained the ATU Sligo senior team to a Moynihan Cup title in 2024 so already has captaincy experience.

Killybegs Suzanne White and Termon's Evelyn McGinley will be the vice-captains.

Donegal are being managed this year by Armagh native James Daly, who took over during the Christmas period following John McNulty's surprise decision to step down.

Elsewhere, Ulster LGFA has confirmed that this year's provincial senior championship final will again be a straight shoot-out between Armagh and Donegal - and will take place on the weekend of May 18th.

Armagh won a thrilling decider against Donegal last year after extra-time.
