Seamus Coleman is poised to return to action tonight for the first time since suffering a horror double leg break in March.
The Republic of Ireland captain has been named in Everton’s U23 squad to face Portsmouth at Goodison Park at 7.00pm.
The 29-year-old has been back in full training with the Toffees for a month but it is unclear if U23 boss David Unsworth will pitch him in from the start.
Coleman has been sidelined since that gruesome injury in Ireland’s 0-0 World Cup qualifying draw with Wales at Aviva Stadium.
On Saturday, he was in the stands when fellow Irish international James McCarthy suffered a similar injury against West Brom.
