Republic of Ireland senior international captain Seamus Coleman will miss the team's friendly against Hungary in Budapest this week because of injury.
The Killybegs man sat out Friday evening's 4-1 win in Andorra because of hamstring string.
Following further assessment, he is returning home as a precaution with him unable to recover from the injury in time for the fixture.
The rest of the squad will travel to Budapest later on Sunday from Girona, Spain.
Ireland play Hungary this Tuesday evening at 7pm.
