Six athletes from Donegal and Sligo schools have been named on the Ireland team for the forthcoming Schools International Athletics Board international track and field championships, at the Mary Peters Track in Belfast on Saturday, July 16th.
They are:
Joe Campbell, Summerhill College, Sligo - 400 metres
Orna Murphy, Ursuline College, Sligo - Long Jump
Patrick Hyland, St. Attracta's Community School Tubbercurry -3000 metres walk
Darragh Mulrooney, Jesus and Mary Secondary School, Enniscrone - 1500 metres
Fintan Dewhirst, St. Columba's Comprehensive School, Glenties - 400 metres Hurdles
Caoimhe Gallen, St. Columba's College, Stranorlar - Hammer.
Joe Campbell and Fintan Dewhirst will also compete for Ireland in the 4 x 400 metres relay race against teams from England, Scotland and Wales.
