Sligo’s Dean Clancy and Leitrim’s Dearbhla Rooney both secured medals at the European Youth Championships in Italy over the weekend.
The Manorhamilton boxer beat a Croatian opponent in her bantamweight quarter-final yesterday to reach the last four.
And Sligo Town youngster Clancy won his third fight in three days on Saturday, when he beat an Italian opponent. His win also secured him qualification for the World Championships in Turkey in August.
Both fighters will be back in the ring for their semi-finals on Tuesday, and are both guaranteed at least bronze medals.
