Sligo collected their first win of this year's Allianz Football League Division 3 campaign on Sunday, with a 1-19 to 2-14 win over Clare at Markievicz Park.
The game was a re-arranged 'catch-up' fixture in Division 3 following its postponement due to an unplayable Markievicz surface a couple of weeks ago.
Sligo led 0-9 to 0-7 at half-time - and Canice Mulligan's second-half goal appeared to give Tony McEntee's side real breathing space.
Similar to the Fermanagh game the previous weekend, Sligo had a seven-point cushion at one stage in the final quarter - but Clare responded with an Emmet McMahon goal and a two-point to close in on their opponents once again.
With time almost up, Dermot Coughlan had a good opportunity to land another long-range two-pointer to level the match - but his kick drifted narrowly wide.
Sligo's win moves them onto three points - and they will face the team just above them in the table, Antrim (4 pts), next Sunday in Belfast.
Sunday's result means Leitrim are now relegated to Division 4 with two games still to play - as they cannot mathematically catch both Sligo and Antrim, as the latter two meet next weekend.
