Sligo beat Westmeath to ensure top four finish in Div 3

Sligo completed their Allianz Football League Division 3 campaign on Sunday with arguably their most impressive performance of the league with a 1-14 to 0-11 over Westmeath at Markievicz Park.

Promotion was out of reach for Tony McEntee's side prior to this game - but Sligo nonetheless produced 70 minutes of football which gave the midlanders all sorts of troubles.

Sean Carrabine's 70th minute goal capped an encourage Sligo display two weeks out from their Connacht Championship quarter-final against Leitrim.

Westmeath are still promoted to Division 2 despite this loss - as fellow league finalists Down beat Clare in Newry in the day's other key Division 3 fixture.
