Sligo senior gaelic footballers have set up a Connacht semi-final meeting with Roscommon in two weeks time following Sunday evening's nervy 1-16 to 0-15 win.
Tony McEntee's side finished the game strongly thanks to key points in the closing moments from Niall Murphy and Paddy O'Connor.
However, with eight minutes of normal time remaining, the complexion of the game looked a lot different as New York, inspired by Adrian Varley who scored 0-8 on the night, were going toe-to-toe with their opponents.
The sides were level, 0-14 to 1-11, at that stage before Sligo finally stepped on the gas to edge to victory.
Sean Carrabine's first-half proved to be a key score, although New York trailed by just a point at the interval.

'Im relieved - New York had three or four chances there and if any of them had gone in we'd have under serious pressure'
