Sligo Grammar School bowed out of rugby's Top Oil Connacht Schools Senior Cup on Wednesday when they were beaten 36-10 by Garbally College in Ballinasloe.
On the day, the Grammar were second-best to a powerful Garbally side who produced an excellent performance. The Sligo lads defended and tackled manfully in the first half but trailed 10-3 at the break - Hubert Gilvarry kicking the Grammar's first-half penalty.
Garbally scored six tries in total to pull well clear. And while the impressive Matthew Early got over for a Sligo Grammar try from the bottom of a line-out maul 10 minutes from the end, it was a consolation score.
