Sligo hurlers suffered their first defeat in this year's Christy Ring Cup campaign on Sunday as they shipped four goals in a 4-27 to 2-13 loss to Derry in Owenbeg.
The Oak Leafers lead by 1-15 to 2-5 at half-time and pulled well clear in the second period to win by score a 20-point victory.
The top two counties from the round-robin stage will qualify for the competition's final.
The bottom placed side after the group stage will make the drop to the Nickey Rackard Cup next season.
Sligo have still to play Meath, Mayo and Tyrone.
