Sligo jockey Darragh Keenan will get to sample Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe Sunday at Longchamp this Sunday, he rides in one of the supporting races for the famous Grade 1 French classic.
Keenan, a native of Ballymote, will saddle 'La Bellota' for English trainer John Ryan in the 2.05pm race - the Prix de l'Abbaye de Longchamp Longines - also a Grade 1 race.
It is a big opportunity for Keenan, who is based out of Ryan's ride in Newmarket.
As for the feature race at 3.20pm, Irish trainer Aidan O'Brien has withdrawn two of his four horses from the field.
Neither 'Auguste Rodin' nor 'Luxembourg' will run.
O'Brien will rely instead on Irish Derby winner 'Los Angeles' and 'Continuous' in the Group 1 contest.
