There was disappointment for Sligo jockey Derek Fox in Friday's signature race of the Cheltenham Festival - the Gold Cup.

Fox, who was aboard the Lucinda Russell trained Ahoy Senor, led the early part of the race before coming down with seven fences remaining.

Jockey and horse were unhurt - but there was one casualty in this year's Gold Cup with the Emmet Mullins trained Corbetts Cross suffering a fatal injury in a separate fall.

The race was won by Inothewayurthinkin, who denied Galopin Des Champs a fairytale third consecutive Gold Cup success.
