There was disappointment for Sligo-Leitrim girls under-14 soccer team in their Gaynor Cup semi-final on Friday as they lost 4-2 to Midlands at University of Limerick.
Boyle Celtic's Shauna McGrath had given Sligo-Leitrim an early lead but three quick-fire goals from Midlands (comprising Laois, Westmeath & Offaly) saw them lead 3-1 at half-time.
Lesley Ann Sweeney scored a second for Sligo-Leitrim in the second-half - but their opponents were able to add a fourth as Midlands ran out 4-2 winners in the end.
In the Plate play-offs, Donegal reached the last four with a 2-0 victory earlier on Friday over Kerry in their quarter-final.
Donegal now play Mayo in the Plate semi-final later on Friday at 6pm.
