Sligo make winning start to league with Wicklow win

Sligo women's gaelic footballers have made a winning start to their Lidl National Football League Division 4 campaign with an impressive 1-13 to 1-3 victory over Wicklow in Cloonacool.

The hosts restricted their opponents to just a solidary score - a penalty - in the first half, as they led by 0-7 to 1-0.

With Leah Kelly and Cara King both influential, and Coolera/Strandhill's talented star Anna McDaniel making her senior league debut for Sligo,  the home side eased to a convincing 10-point victory.

Listen back to reflections from the Ocean FM Sport commentary team of Claire Rooney and Aisling Browne, as well as the postmatch thoughts of new Sligo boss Kieran Kilkenny.
