The death has been announced of Mick 'Bomber' Savage, a member of Sligo Rovers history-making 1983 FAI Cup winning side.
Savage died surrounded by family members at North West Hospice after a lengthy illness.
He was 64.
He played midfield on the Rovers team which famously won a first-ever FAI Cup title in 1983 at Dalymount Park when they beat Bohemians 2-1.

Savage played underage football for Carraroe in his native Sligo and then for Ballisodare United before Gerry Mitchell signed the 17-year-old for Sligo Rovers' reserve team.
He graduated to Sligo's first team towards the end of the 1978/79 season, making his debut against Cork Alberts at the Showgrounds on March 25th, 1979.
He made two senior appearances for the Bit o' Red that season but then left to join Johnny Giles' youth academy at Shamrock Rovers that summer and was soon involved with the Miltown club's senior side.
He spent two seasons with the 'Dublin' Rovers but left Milltown in November 1981 to return to his home County and re-sign for Sligo Rovers under manager Patsy McGowan.
Savage spent the next nine seasons at the Showgrounds.
He left the club in the summer of 1990 and had one final League of Ireland season with Longford Town in 1990/91.
Subsequently, Savagemoved to Cork where he played Munster Senior League football with Ballincolig before returning to Sligo and finishing up his playing days back at Ballisodare United.
