Sligo Rovers suffered a second consecutive defeat in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division on Friday night, going down 3-0 to FAI cup winners Drogheda United.
Sullivan & Lambe Park was an unhappy hunting ground for Rovers last season - they lost their fixturess here 3-1 and 7-0 - and Friday night followed a similar trend as goals from Josh Thomas in the first half, and Darragh Markey and Lee Heeney in the second, saw the bit o'red lose their second game on the trot at the start of the new season.
At 2-0 down, Rovers did find the back of the Drogheda net through Cian Cavanagh.
The goal was ruled offside although television replays appear to show the Rovers striker was onside.
However, Rovers were second best on the night - and the full-time scoreline didn't flatter Drogheda.
Sligo Rovers manager John Russell gave his postmatch assessment to Ocean FM Sport after Friday night's loss.
