Sligo Rovers defender Nando Pijnaker has been named in the New Zealand squad for their upcoming World Cup play-off against Costa Rice on June 14th.
Should New Zealand win, they will qualify for this year’s World Cup in Qatar and will be in a group alongside Spain, Germany and Japan.
Pijnaker, who is on loan from Portuguese club Rio Ave has enjoyed a strong start start to his spell at The Showgrounds featuring in 13 league games so far this season.
The dutch-born defender has 7 senior New Zealand appearances to his name to date.
