Sligo Rovers have once again looked to New Zealand in a bid to recruit for the new League of Ireland season by signing Kiwi international winger Oskar Van Hattum.
Van Hattum, who's primarily a right-sided player, is 22 years of age and joins from New Zealand club Wellington Phoenix who play in the Australian A League.
His signature continues a recent trend of New Zealand signings with fellow internationals Nando Pijnaker and Max Mata having been other Kiwi Rovers players in recent years.
The club says Van Hattum has agreed a one-year deal.
Van Hattum has represented New Zealand at various underage levels, making his senior debut against Solomon Islands during the 2024 OFC Men's Nations Cup, a tournament which he and his Kiwi team mates went on to win.
He was also part of the New Zealand U23 side which competed at last year's Paris Olympics
