Sligo boxer Dean Clancy began his quest for gold in the Strandja Memorial Tournament with a victory in the opening round on Tuesday afternoon.
Clancy, who trains out of the Seán McDermott club in Manorhamilton defeated Uzbekistan's Illyasov Sayat by unanimous, 5-0 decision in Sofia.
The win ensures Clancy's progression to the quarter-finals which will take place on Thursday.
Clancy is a part of a eighteen-strong Irish team for the tournament which includes fellow Paris Olympian Jack Marley.
