Sligo jockey Derek Fox will ride his recent Cheltenham winning mount 'Corach Rambler' in this Saturday's Aintree Grand National.
Fox, who won national hunt racing's most famous race in 2017 aboard 'One For Arthur', will ride the horse he's won the Ultima Handicap with at Cheltenham for the past two seasons this weekend.
'Corach Rambler' is trained by Lucinda Russell, who also trained 'One For Arthur' when Fox won the Grand National six years ago.
He became just the second Sligo jockey to win the famous steeplechase - following in the footsteps of Leo McMorrow and 'Russian Hero' in 1949.
Fox, who's a native of Emmet Place in Sligo Town, is currently recovering from injury, having suffered a fall during a race at Wetherby on April 6th, which aggravated an existing shoulder problem.
However, the indications are that the Sligoman will be fit to take his place in the 40-strong Grand National field.
'Corach Rambler' is listed among the favourites for what is a £1million race at Aintree.
Saturday's Grand National is due off at 5:15pm.
