Sligo's Finley Daly finishes second in 3000m steeplechase at European Team Championships

Sligo AC athlete Finley Daly has finished second in the Men’s 3000m steeplechase at the European Team Championships in Poland.

The Keash native ran a strong race throughout and recorded a time of 8.51.14.

Tuesday’s race at the Silesian Stadium in Chorzow was won by Romania’s Nahuel Carabaña in a time of 8:48.79.

Tír Chonaill Athletic Club's Kelly McGrory and Somer Lecky of Finn Valley AC are also part of the Irish team for the games.

McGrory will compete in the 400m hurdles and the women's 4x4000m relay while Lecky will take part in the high jump.
